Project: Hays Galleria, London

Client: SW Bruce

Hay’s Galleria is Grade II listed building on the Jubilee Walk on the south bank of River Thames.

Originally a warehouse for the port of London, it was redeveloped as a shopping and leisure centre in the 1980s. The centrepiece of the structure is a 60ft high steel and bronze kinetic fountain by David Kemp called The Navigators.

Barwin carried out cleaning and remedial repairs to the stone and brickwork, including the replacement of some of the Bath Stone.

Project: 86 Kensington High Street, London

Barwin were instructed to undertake redecoration and specialist cleaning of the building façade of the Victorian property by means of TORC cleaning system.

The property is located on a busy shopping street in Kensington. The retail unit on the ground floor and offices above it remained open for business during the works. We had to take precautions to protect all windows and doors, seal openings, airbricks and ventilators in the external walls to prevent water ingress into the building. A gutter system was devised to help prevent water from dripping on to customers when entering the shops.

All previously painted areas were cleaned, prepped, filled and re-painted with Dulux masonry paint.

The residents are delighted with the finished results.
