Project: 150 – 155 Sloane Square, London

Client: Cadogan Estates

Barwin were appointed by Chorus Group on behalf of Cadogan Estates to undertake stone and brick façade repairs and cleaning by means of the DOFF system to this period residential property in Chelsea. This prestigious building consists of 10 exclusive apartments and it is also a home to Jo Malone, Montblanc and Chloé luxury retailers. The main challenge of this project was to cause minimal disruption to the retail units below whilst façade cleaning and restoration works were carried out.

Barwin carried out replacement of Bath stone string course units to the chimney stacks and insitu repairs to existing masonry features and bands. We also replaced 4 bays of bottle balustrades. These reconstituted stone units were copied from existing elements and installed on site to complete the new look of the front façade.

Scope of works:

  • Cleaning of existing facades using the DOFF system
  • Restoration of stucco facades to four main elevations
  • Rebuilding of bottle balustrades and screed
  • Replacement of natural stone units to chimneys
  • Repointing
  • Installation of air bricks
  • Structural stabilisation of North elevation pediment
Materials:
  • Lime based stucco renders
  • Bath stone string course units
  • Helifix bow ties
